Christmas Event 2013

The Durham Rescue Mission hosted its 38th annual Christmas Dinner and Toy give away on Tuesday, December 24th, 2013. Volunteers started cooking 175 turkeys at 7PM the night before to help feed the thousands that attended.

We would like to thank all the volunteers that helped make this possible.  It is wonderful to see needy children in the community walk away smiling with toys they may not have been able to receive.  This was made possible by the tremendous generosity of companies and individuals in the community.

In addition, we appreciate the Moravian Brass Band playing for our guests and a special thank you to Miss North Carolina for helping to give away toys to the at-risk children in attendance.
