Victory ProgramsOur “Victory Programs” are twelve-month modular courses designed to transform residents from homeless and hopeless to hopeful. This program is offered to all qualified residents of the Durham Rescue Mission. Please pray for the men and women in these programs as they work toward graduation and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. Men’s Victory ProgramIn the summer of 1996, the Victory Program was born out of a need for further Biblical training. This program provides an opportunity to physically, mentally, and spiritually disciple willing residents. Acceptance into the program is based on profession of faith and twenty-one days of good behavior at the mission. Training occupies the majority of their time, which includes daily devotions, Bible studies, and computer training. Our men’s program director, Lynn Holloway, mentors participants functioning as a teacher, counselor, and friend. Other staff and volunteers are involved in classes, as well. Women’s Victory ProgramGail Mills, co-founder of the Durham Rescue Mission, directs the Victory Program for women. This program was designed to equip graduates with the skills necessary for obtaining gainful employment. They receive basic training in Microsoft Office applications, medical terminology, filing, and applicable skills. They also attend daily devotions, Bible studies, and life-skills classes.
