Testimony of Valerie Dunham

Valerie Dunham, a former resident of The Opportunity Place, recently bought her own townhouse. Not too long ago, Valerie was homeless. She had a serious addiction to drugs and was about to have her young daughter taken away from her. She turned to the mission for help.

After a year of counseling, Bible study, and vocational training, Valerie graduated from our Victory Program. Since then, she has been working at Duke's Eye Center.

With the help of her parents, Valerie was able to purchase a townhouse. She and her daughter, Debbie, were honored with a "Housewarming" party given by her family and friends at the Durham Rescue Mission.

Just wonder, how many of our friends ever thought their financial and prayer support would make it possible for a mother to purchase her own home for herself and her daughter? The Lord is so wonderful!
