Testimony of Kim Scott

I grew up in a Christian home, but decided I was not going to live by my parents' rules. Soon, I got in with the wrong crowd and ended up pregnant.

After Justin was born, I stayed awhile with my parents, but, still not willing to obey their rules, I left. When Justin was 2 months old I learned he needed surgery. It was then I finally realized I needed to turn my life around.

I came to The Opportunity Place (a home for mothers with children at the Durham Rescue Mission) in March. What a wonderful place the Lord had waiting for me! God has opened many doors here that otherwise would have been closed. I have learned computer skills and have completed my GED! I could not have done it without help from the Durham Rescue Mission and its faithful supporters.

I am so thankful that God put a burden in someone's heart to provide such a place. Many just would not care. I have never met more caring and loving people than Mr. and Mrs. Mills. I am thankful that they reached out to Justin and me, because I do not know where we would be had I not come to the Durham Rescue Mission. Mr. and Mrs. Mills, I love you. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful home.
