  1. Think of the homeless as individuals with names, faces, and unique talents.
  2. Do not give cash to a panhandler; most likely the money will be used for drugs or alcohol.
  3. Realize that giving money to a beggar may actually make that person’s situation worse.
  4. Talk with the homeless person with respect and recommend that they go to the Durham Rescue Mission.

  6. Invite someone who works at the Durham Rescue Mission to speak to your class or club.
