Thanksgiving Day Dinner

On Thanksgiving Day, the Durham Rescue Mission hosts a free Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner. We serve a free traditional thanksgiving meal* with all the trimmings, and give away free clothing* (including winter coats*) and free groceries*. In addition, we have games and other activities for the children to enjoy. If you are in need of help during the holidays or are homeless, we invite you to come join us at 1201 East Main Street, Durham, North Carolina, for our Thanksgiving Community Dinner.

During the Thanksgiving season, the Durham Rescue Mission needs volunteers to help with our Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner. Volunteer opportunities include: collecting gently used winter coats for the homeless and/or needy; setting up the event site; cooking the meal; serving the meal; setting up and manning the game booths; giving away clothing, groceries, and coats for all ages; and cleaning up after the event.
